Ritu Dubey

French (MYP/DP)

Ritu is a passionate and self-motivated IB educator who has a wealth of international educational experience spanning Asia and Middle East. She is an IB DP Examiner for French B and TOK respectively since 2011 besides being an IBMYP moderator for French B until 2014. She has been an active contributor to the standardized assessment types corresponding to the IB prescribed descriptors included in the IBMYP Next Chapter Guide and has been actively involved in the IBMYP base camps for educators working towards designing best fit assessments and contributing towards the Teacher Support Material (TSM) for the new IBMYP Guide. She gets inspired to explore and discover further inquiry based conceptual teaching strategies to implement the IBMYP programme in its true ethos. She is aspiring to take up dual IBEN roles of DP Workshop Leader and an IB School Site Visting Team Member later this year in October 2017. Ritu’s academic antecedents include a Masters in Organic Chemistry (1995) from her hometown University of Bhopal, India before going on to obtain a double Masters in Teaching of French as a Foreign language (2005), University of Rouen, France and Masters in French (1998) from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi. She first started teaching French at Alliance Française de Bhopal, India in 1992 as a part time French teacher, teaching DELF A1 and A2 levels while still completing her formal education to obtain a Master’s in Science in 1998. Subsequently, driven by her passion for French language, she pursued her Masters in French from India and France as mentioned earlier. She returned to Alliance Francaise once again to teach French from DELF A1 to B1 level until 2007. In 2007, Ritu joined Ecole Mondiale IB World School, Mumbai, India as a French and TOK teacher, followed by a move to United Arab Emirates in 2014 to work at Greenfield Community School- a full IB continuum school running all 4 programmes of IB in Dubai till June 2017. At Greenfield Community School, Ritu worked in the capacity of Head of Department, Modern Foreign Languages in the Secondary school besides teaching IBDP French B SL and HL courses, IBDP French ab initio SL course, IBMYP French LA and IBDP TOK. She then went on to teach Language development course in the IB career programme for 1 year at GCS, Dubai. She believes in value- based education which is informed by inquiry and a blend of critical and creative thinking. She strongly believes that she is a life-long learner who is dedicated to the holistic development of young children and is committed to works relentlessly to develop an inquiry-based conceptual teaching and learning ambience in the real life contexts where the young budding minds could be oriented towards developing international mindedness leading to global citizenship through service and action rendered to towards the larger community.
