Our collection

Our collection includes both classics and contemporary children’s and young adult fiction, featuring award-winning titles from Newbery, Caldecott, Carnegie, ALA Young Adult, and Graphic Novel award lists. Additionally, our non-fiction collection provides valuable resources for PYP units of inquiry and upper school research projects. Carefully selected subscription databases like World Book, Britannica School Edition, and EBSCOhost ensure students and families have access to accurate and reliable research materials.

Our Space

The library spans five uniquely designed rooms, offering:

  • A Reference and Research Area for classroom use and non-fiction resources.
  • Upper School and Lower School areas with fiction collections ranging from teenage popular titles to timeless classics.
  • A Sitting Area with world languages, graphic novels, poetry, and media collections.
  • A Classroom for scheduled library classes, group instruction, and individual study.

This thoughtfully organized space creates an enriching environment where students of all ages can discover, learn, and grow.

Our Team and Mission

The qualified library staff plays an integral role in teaching, coordinating curriculum support, and delivering the Library/Information Studies Course for grades PreK–5. Research shows that students thrive when they have access to well-staffed, well-funded, and technologically equipped library programs—and the ISE Library exemplifies this standard of excellence.

A Modern Resource for All

Fully renovated in 2007, the library features modern spaces for quiet reading and collaborative learning. In 2009, it was named The Sharon Sperry Library, honoring her pivotal role as ISE Director (2004–2009) in transforming the library into the “heart of the school.”

The ISE Library is open to the entire school community—students, teachers, and their families. Explore the resources we offer and let the library be your gateway to inspiration and knowledge.
