As a non-profit organization, ISE fees are completely invested in the school. More than 50% of ISE students receive some form of tuition discount. We believe that finances should not be a barrier to attending ISE for students who fit best at ISE. If you can show us the need for a discount we will work with you.

Tuition Fees for 2025-2026

ISE tuition fees are structured to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, internationally recognized education consistent with international schools worldwide. While supported by the Estonian state on the same basis as other private schools, ISE does not receive additional European Union or private funding. As a non-profit organization, we calculate our fees transparently to align with our commitment to education excellence.

Our tuition remission options ensure that an ISE education is accessible to families of all means. We offer merit- and needs-based scholarships as well as several bursaries, helping make an ISE education an option for everyone.

For Estonian citizens & permanent residents

Preschool (Early Years) — public subsidies for families in Estonia
Most municipalities in and around Tallinn help cover part of preschool/kindergarten (Early Years) costs when the child and at least one parent are registered residents. The exact support and parent co-pay vary by municipality.

  • Tallinn (city residents): Contributes €294/month to licensed private preschool/childcare (with possible +€71.25 in specific cases) plus a daily food allowance (€2.80 under-3 / €3.10 age 3+). Typical eligibility: the child and a parent are registered in Tallinn and confirm twice yearly in the e-service. More info: https://www.tallinn.ee/en/services/childcare-service-benefit
  • Rae Parish (Rae vald): Covers private preschool/childcare up to the parish’s average municipal place cost (≈ €515/month in 2025); if a municipal place isn’t available, the parent co-pay typically aligns with the municipal fee (€132.90/month, with sibling discounts). More info (PDF, Estonian): https://www.rae.ee/sites/default/files/documents/2025-09/Toetused%20soodustused%20teenused%202025.pdf
  • Viimsi Parish (Viimsi vald): Supports up to €469/month for private preschools and €392/month for private childcare; with support-agreement providers, the parent co-pay aligns to the municipal fee (commonly €82/€164), while non-agreement providers receive €260/month and the parent pays the remainder. More info (Estonian): https://www.viimsi.ee/pere-ja-haridus/vaikelaps-ja-lasteaed/lastehoiud

Eligibility basics: Registration in the local population register is key; age rules usually cover up to 7 years old. Always check the municipal page for the latest terms.

Tax deduction on education expenses (national)
Estonian residents can deduct education expenses paid to recognized institutions in Estonia or abroad. You may claim for your children/grandchildren/siblings, or one permanent resident under 26 whose costs you paid; the combined cap for training expenses (together with gifts & donations) is up to €1,200/year and not more than 50% of your taxable income. Ensure the school records the learner’s and payer’s name and ID-code so costs appear pre-filled in e-MTA. More info: https://www.emta.ee/en/private-client/taxes-and-payment/tax-incentives/training-expenses and https://www.emta.ee/en/private-client/taxes-and-payment/tax-incentives

Other state support for families
Estonia also offers nationwide family benefits (e.g., child allowance, allowance for families with many children, childbirth allowance). Current rates and eligibility: https://sotsiaalkindlustusamet.ee/perehuvitised-ja-muud-toetused/peretoetused/lapsetoetus
