Student Council

The MYP1 to DP2 (grades 6-12) Student Council at the International School of Estonia (ISE) is a student-led organization representing students from grade 6-12. It is dedicated to enhancing student life and fostering engagement within the school community.

Established in 2000, the council provides students with the opportunity to develop leadership skills, promote school spirit, and act as a collective voice to communicate student interests to the administration.

Student Council Mission

To empower students by:

  • Creating meaningful change through student-led initiatives.
  • Acting as a representative voice for the student body.
  • Communicating student concerns and ideas to the administration.

Structure and Collaboration

Each grade has at least one representative on the council, ensuring that every student has a voice. The Student Council meets weekly to discuss student concerns, plan events, and promote involvement. We also have a PYP Student Council representing grades 1-5 who collaborates with the MYP1-DP2 Student Council on several initiatives as well as running their own initiatives, fostering a sense of community across all age groups. The Student Council consists of several official positions, including:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Communication Manager
  • Event Coordinator
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • International School Representative

These members are elected through a voting process conducted within the council, ensuring that each position is filled by a candidate chosen by their peers.

Activities and Events

The Student Council organizes a variety of events and initiatives to enrich school life and give back to the community, including:

  • Festive Events: Halloween Parties, Holiday Week, and Valentine’s Day celebrations.
  • Social Gatherings: The ISE Spring Dance, Spring Prom, and Upper School Sleepover.
  • Community Support: Fundraisers, bake sales, and Family Fun Day.
  • School Spirit: Spirit Week, themed dress-up days, and the school sleepover.
  • Inclusivity and Awareness: Pride Week and other events celebrating diversity and unity.

The ISE Student Council is a cornerstone of student leadership, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to be heard, contribute to the community, and leave a lasting impact on the school.

This thoughtfully organized space creates an enriching environment where students of all ages can discover, learn, and grow.
