About ISE: Cultivating Global Leaders

Welcome to the International School of Estonia (ISE)! We provide a comprehensive, student-centered education for children aged 3 to 19, following the internationally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum in English. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the Council of International Schools (CIS) and licensed by the Estonian Ministry of Education and the International Baccaluareate Organisation, ISE has upheld the highest standards in education since its initial accreditation in 2007. As Estonia’s first IB World School, ISE offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Middle Years Programme (MYP), cultivating critical thinkers and compassionate global citizens.Students can earn either the prestigious IB Diploma or a US diploma incorporating practical, passion-driven studies.

We foster a welcoming, inclusive community of approximately 150 students from diverse nationalities. We are the school of choice for many different embassies in Tallinn with support from the US State Department’s Office of Overseas Schools, as well as families from multiple other embassies, NATO, and multinational technology companies with the most diverse and experienced international teaching faculty in Estonia.

Our experienced international faculty delivers inquiry-based learning and modern teaching practices, enhanced by programs like our STEAM curriculum and the RUMI reading dog initiative. Governed by a parent-elected board, ISE promotes active parental involvement and a collaborative environment, nurturing critical thinkers and compassionate global citizens prepared for success in a rapidly changing world.

Technology is at the core of ISE’s curriculum, supported by a 1:1 iPad programme in the PYP and Bring Your Own Device programme in MYP and DP, fast WiFi across the campus, and cutting-edge digital tools such as LCD projectors, Apple TVs, cameras, and video conferencing equipment, preparing students for university and the modern workplace.

We are the only school in Estonia participating in the “Digital Bridges” program which aims to develop the fundamental digital life skills of students, enabling them to fully and responsibly participate both locally and globally in the ever evolving digital landscape. In addition to this, we provide hands-on experience with three dedicated digital life skills workshops throughout the year, where our teachers and external experts share their experiences and guide students in exploring innovative tools, applications, and technologies.
