Paulo Santos

Visual Art (PYP/MYP/DP) / Design (MYP) / Design Technology (DP) / Film (DP)

Paulo Santos has been our PYP/MYP/DP Visual Arts, MYP Design, DP Design Technology and DP Film Teacher since 2007. He is also the Head of the Design Department. He is originally from Lisbon, Portugal and has taught in Portugal, Denmark, Mozambique and Estonia. He holds a BA in Communication Design from the Fine Arts Academy of Lisbon and is certified for his teaching qualifications by the EU Educational Program. His studies also involve New Technologies and IT, Computer Programming with specialization in Web Design. He has 16 years of International Baccalaureate (IB) experience and he is highly trained and certificated in IB PYP/MYP/DP Visual Art, MYP Design, DP Design Technology and DP Film studies.
His goal is to explore and support creativity in the classroom while engaging students in the use of educational technology and stimulating the development of ATL skills in their learning process.
Paulo Santos has been an international volunteer for the development of the National Education System in Mozambique and member of the Diplomatic and Expat Community and Estonia Society Association. In addition, he has been a Professional Archery Coach since 2019, where he coordinates his own Archery Academy in Portugal, leading athletes to individual and team titles in the National Championships of Portugal. He is also leading his youth archers to the Olympic Portuguese program for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032. As an archery athlete, Paulo has won 13 National Portuguese and Estonian Champion titles including 2 Silver Medals at the European Archery Championships.
His hobbies involve traveling, outdoor sports activities such as hiking climbing, mountain biking, and most recently, designing, building and riding classic motorcycles.
