Emma is an Estonian and IB graduate who was born in Washington DC and spent 13 years growing up in Southeast Asia before moving to Switzerland and the UK. Having lived and studied across six countries, including the United States, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, she has always enjoyed being part of diverse and international communities.
She recently graduated from the University of Bristol with a Master’s degree (MSci) in Psychology and Neuroscience, achieving First Class Honours. During her studies, she developed a particular interest in understanding learning and behaviour from both psychological and neurological perspectives.
Before joining ISE, Emma worked as a Teaching Assistant in the UK supporting students with a range of special educational needs across primary and secondary settings. She supported students with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, and social and emotional needs. She particularly enjoyed helping students develop their confidence, independence, and strategies for learning.
Although she has spent most of her life abroad, Estonia has always felt like home. She
spent her summers in Estonia, particularly in Põltsamaa and Muhu. In her free time,
Emma enjoys playing volleyball, swimming, and baking. She is also passionate about
sustainability, particularly finding ways to reduce waste and support a more circular way
of living.
