Aniva Payne

Aniva was born in New Zealand of Samoan ethnicity. She has a degree in Education from Canterbury University New Zealand and has additional diplomas in Pianoforte (Composition) Royal School of Music, London, and ESL/CELTA. Having originally trained as a nurse, and after working in New Zealand and London, Aniva became the school nurse for Munich International School Germany, during the mid-1990’s.

Aniva is very familiar with the PYP program since its existence as her husband, Don, was one of the pioneers who wrote the PYP curriculum and created the Learner Profile. She has a broad resume of PYP and MYP training and experience that includes leadership roles in the PYP.

With Estonia being Aniva’s eighth country to live and work in, she is happy to again, be teaching music, which has always been a passion.

In her free time, Aniva likes to cycle, read, soak in the sun and watch New Zealand rugby.
