Maris was born in Estonia and received her MA in Early Childhood and Primary Education with a minor in Child Psychology from Tallinn University.
After graduating she decided to travel the world and ended up in New York City, where she was an elementary teacher at the progressive Calhoun School. In 2009 she returned to Europe and lived in Paris for ten years, where she studied and started a family. She has now returned to Estonia and is joining the ISE community teaching PYP French and PHE. She enjoys traveling, theater, and cinema but most of all she loves spending time with her (most awesome) kids.
